Here's a great Maynard for a shooter or collector. This carbine is in good shape. The action is nice and tight with a solid half and full cock. The barrel cams positively and locks up nicely against the receiver. The flash hole is nice and tight; although slightly oblong. The markings on the receiver are legible.
The barrel is full length and both front and rear sights are original. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no rust or pitting. It should make for a great shooter! The butt stock has several modern repairs (see pictures) that are very strong and will hold up to shooting without issue.
This Maynard is a great representative sample of a good Civil War carbine-a great choice for any collection.
