Here's an excellent Thrid Model Brown Bess in excellent condition. This is a legitimate Napoleonic-era British Brown Bess; not Nepalese garbage.
This musket is all original from top to bottom and is so well preserved, that it appears to be shootable. The lock is still in its original flintlock configuration, not reconverted like so many other Brown Besses. The lock works wonderfully; the cock holds solid on both full and half cock, and the frizzen throws a hot shower of sparks when the trigger is pulled.
The stock is very good with no cracks or splits. All the edges are sharp and crisp, indicating that this piece has never been refinished.
The barrel is full length and adorned with proper British proof marks, The bore is good with some scattered rust and pitting.
