Here's a great early 19th Century custom half stock rifle. This rifle was hand built using all the finest American-made components. The lock is one of Jim Chambers' famous "Siler" locks. These locks are renowned for being among the fastest and reliable flintlocks on the market; and this lock is no exception providing a reliable shower of sparks with ever pull of the set triggers.
The barrel is .45 caliber and features a modern shooter's adjustable rear sight for serious target shooting. This sight could easily be replaced with something more traditional shoot the rifle's new owner prefer to use it for reenacting. The bore is very good with strong rifling and some very minor surface rust near the muzzle.
The rifle is stocked in a beautiful piece of figured maple. The stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. A handsome poured pewter nosecap adorns the stock tip.
The furniture is iron and was inletted very nicely onto the stock.
