Here's a great M1816 conversion. This original Pomeroy is in great shape and features a smooth, dark patina.
The stock is good shape with a small repair behind the hammer. This is a modern repair and should hold up well to recoil, should the musket be fired. The rest of the stock is very good with crisp edges and a few minor handling marks.
The lock holds solid on full and half cock and the lock plate has good legible markings.
The barrel is full length and the bore is good with only a few areas of scattered surface rust. The breech section is in very nice shape with no erosion around the nipple like many other 1816 conversions. The nipple is removable and the threads in the barrel are in good shape.
The furniture is all original with the exception of a reproduction ramrod. Both swivels are intact and movable.
This musket is a great choice for any reenactor. Bargain-priced at less than the cost of a Pedersoli reproduction.
