This Federally-converted M1819 Hall Rifle is in excellent, untouched condition; and features wonderfully crisp stock and an even "chocolate brown" patina; a great indicator that was never once refinished.
The stock is excellent with only one or two handling marks and no cracks or chips - a rare feature for many Hall's; as they are often seen with extensive stock damage either behind or in front of the breech block. The original varnished finish of the stock mostly remains and the edges are crisp and unsanded.
The breech block locks up solid with no wiggle. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock. The block features strong, legtible markings.
The barrel is full length and the bore is very good - a bit dirty but with very strong rifling. We've made no attempt to clean this collector's piece in anyway; as Hall's in this kind of untouched condition are becoming a real rarity.
The furniture is all original and intact.
This Hall would be a tough gun to upgrade!
