The M1835 were technically the last of the flintlock era bayonets but historical evidence suggests that most were issued for use with the M1842 Springfield; as their have been several photographs discovered that featured M1842's with M1835 bayonets affixed to their muzzles. It is also rumored that the Iron Brigade was issued M1835 bayonets with their M1842 muskets, but there isn't any concrete historical records to substantiate this claim.
This bayonet is in great shape with a heavy brown patina and no pitting.
