Here's a great, all original M1836 Cavalry Pistol. This pistol is in great shape and is still in its original configuration; not a reconversion from percussion.
The lock is good with a solid half and full cock. The frizzen spring is very crisp and the action of the lock is smooth. The lock markings are crisp and legible.
The stock is very nice with crisp edges and two deep inspector's cartouches. There are no cracks or chips anywhere; except for a small chip missing from the bottom of the forestock directly behind the rear band.
The barrel is full length and the bore is dark and could use a good cleaning. It does not appear to have any major pitting however.
The furniture is all original including the "captured" ramrod; which is full length.
