This original M1866 "2nd Allin" rifle is in good shape and all original .
The lock has a nice, crisp action that holds solid on both full and half cock. The lock plate markings are nice and legible with no major pitting. The barrel also has strong stamps with scattered pitting throughout. The "trapdoor" action works perfectly and the extractor is intact and functional. The barrel is still full length and both the front and rear sight are original and in good condition. The bore and chamber are in very good - mostly shiny with only some minor "frost pitting" in the grooves.
The stock is in good condition with no active cracks and no rotten spots. There is a repaired crack in the buttstock (see pictures), however this crack was filled with modern adhesive and should not cause any issues if the gun were to be fired. The furniture is all original and matching. The cleaning rod is full length This 50-70 would be a great shooter or collector's piece.
