Becky Baird has been one of our helpers for 16 years. We rely on her skills to keep this 'hobby' business running as smoothly as it can with a volunteer staff.

Becky had surgery to repair the jawbone that has begun to deteriorate from the lasting effects of radiation therapy in the 1950's. The procedure took 10 hour of surgery followed by a 10 day stay in the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison in August, 2010. She would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who offered prayers and financial support. --------------- Bill and Company

"I am feeling much better and am so humbled by the love and helpfulness of so many friends. Your selfless generosity overwhelms me. The surgery went well for step one but there will more surgery needed as the tissue implant shrinks and position changes. For now, I am working on gaining back the weight I lost in July and August and getting back to work. I had a good week in Winchester with the N-SSA skirmishers. Thank you all."

'I will put up a picture of the new and improved me after the swelling goes down a bit more.'

May 5, 2011 "I am still doing physical therapy to make the jaw work, making good progress. It has been a slow and somewhat perplexing process but Dr. reports are A-OK and on track. More months and lots of patience. Sorry, no new picture has made its way to this computer yet. See you in VA for Spring Nationals.

July 28, 2011 Well it has been 1 year since the surgery and I am feeling fine and the Dr.'s are pleased with the results. I'm still doing physical therapy and eating soft foods but that will change soon, I hope.

I have been back to shooting and I am enjoying it as always.

August 29, 2011 Well, I have come a long way and now have a slight set back. Two of the titanium implants from 10 years ago have failed so there is only 1 left to build a partial on and that is not enough of a foundation. I will have surgery and two more implanted after Nationals. I had so hoped for teeth by Fall Nationals but now have my sights on teeth for Spring 2012.

October 21, 2011, Two titanium implants, surgery on the 19th went well. Back to work and believing for successful healing.

December 4, 2011, One more titanuim implant needed, surgery scheduled for Jan. 3, 2012

January 10, 2012, Surgery went well, now we just go on with the day to day and wait for healing.

Slow and Steady wins the race.

Thank to all who have kept me in their prayers,"
