Here is a true time capsule! This American Historical Society Commemorative Revolver was made by Colt in the 1970's. The Ulysses S. Grant Cased M1851 Navy Revolver is highly prized among collectors. Colt made a very limited run of these commemorative guns to commemorate the Civil War's Sesquicentennial.

This particular pistol was ordered directly from Colt by its original owner in 1971. The gun was bought as an "investment piece" and as such, the original purchaser kept it in absolutely mint condition - he never even unwrapped the powder flask from its original brown paper wrapper! As such, this set is exactly the way it was received in 1971, complete with all of its original accessories and factory paperwork - it is literally as close to factory new as it gets!

The pistol is unfired and in near mint condition. The cylinder has no turn lines and the period correct bluing is near perfect. The bone-charcoal color case hardened finish is perfect and has no rust or blemishes. Included with this pistol are a host of Colt-produced accessories; all in mint condition and unused. This pistol and all its accessories are nicely fit in a walnut presentation case with the words "Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative" stamped in it.
