This original Colt M1861 Special musket is in great condition and is all original with the exception of a reproduction ramrod and rear sight.

The stock is very good with no cracks or splits.

The lock is a desirable early date (1862) with great markings and no rust or pitting. The action of the lock is smooth with a reliable half and full cock.

The barrel is full length and the in very good condition with a nice eagle stamp on the bolster.

The bore is dark with faint rifling.

Overall, a great representative of a one of the North's most popular muskets, made by one of America's most recognizable firearms companies.
