Here's a rare find. These reproduction M1861 Special Model muskets were marketed under Colt's "Signature Series" in the 1990's. They were marketed as collector's pieces and featured several upgraded features not found on other Italian-made reproduction muskets, like American Walnut stocks.

This particular musket is in great condition and features a correct leather sling and bayonet. The lock holds solid on both full and half cock. The stock is in excellent shape with no chips or cracks; and only one or two handling marks.

The barrel is excellent with a great bore and no major rust or pitting.

The India-made bayonet which is included with the rifle fits very well and matches the gun in terms of condition.

This Colt Signature Series muskets are regarded by many as being among the most historically accurate reproductions ever produced. Pick up this beautiful example, and you'll soon see that its reputation is well-deserved!
