Description

Here's a nice, well-used Armi Sport Enfield that was defarbed by its former owner. The defarb features the removal of the modern Italian markings, and the addition of a host of custom parts, including a new lock plate, correct square-eared escutcheons, and original Enfield swivels.

This musket is in good condition, and features a pleasing patina on all the external surfaces - this musket could almost pass as an original! The lock holds solid on both full and half cock and the lock plate was replaced with a custom-made "1862 TOWER" lock plate that was actually made by Lodgewood in 1990s. The stock has some visible handling marks, but no major cracks or chips.

The original Italian markings have been neatly removed from the barrel and replaced with correct Birmingham proof marks. The bore is good with strong rifling, no major pitting, and some light surface rust which would likely cleaning up with a brass brush and some elbow grease.

The swivels and escutcheons were replaced with historically accurate pieces and the rest of the furniture is in nice shape and matches the gun well.
