Here's a nice early Uberti copy of the famous Colt 1873 Single Action Army in .44-40 This gun features a butter-smooth action and nicely-aged finish.

The action is very smooth and the hammer locks up solid in all three notches. The cylinder locks up tight with no "play" or wobble.

The bore and all the chambers are excellent with no pitting. The rifling is crisp and sharp.

The finish has been nicely aged to replicate a gun that's spent a few years in the saddle. The oil-finished walnut grips are excellent with no cracks or chips.

This gun was imported by the now defunct "Allen Mfg Co." in Santa Fe NM, and features an "AM" production code on the barrel. This translates to a 1984 production date, making this gun one of the earlier Uberti SAA replicas. These early Uberti SAA's have become fairly collectable in recent years as they are largely interchangeable with original Colts .
