Description

This is a great, original Smith! It is all original and retains a lot of it's original finish. The action is smooth; holding solid on full and half cock. The lock up is very tight with no wiggle between the receiver and barrel. The receiver has some traces of case color which has taken on an attractive silvery patina.

The bore is phenomenal. The rifling is perfect and there is no rust or pitting anywhere. The barrel retains most of its original bluing. The flash hole is nice and tight-not burnt out like so many other carbines.

The stocks are in good shape. with crisp edges and only a few scattered dings and dents. The are no major cracks or chips anywhere (what appears as a crack on the left side of the butt stock is actually a deep scratch).

This Smith is about as honest as they come. The condition of the bore and the tight lock up make this an excellent candidate for a skirmisher or collector.
