Description
This beautiful M1866 "2nd Allin" rifle is in excellent condition and all original .
The lock has a nice, crisp action that holds solid on both full and half cock. The lock plate markings are nice with beautiful, vibrant color case hardening. The barrel also has strong stamps with no pitting. The "trapdoor" action works perfectly and the extractor is intact and functional. The breech block retains its original arsenal blued finish. The barrel is still full length and both the front and rear sight are original and in good condition. The bore and chamber are in excellent shape with strong rifling and no pitting.
The stock is in fantastic condition with nice edges and visible cartouches. There are no cracks, or rotten spots anywhere. The furniture is all original and matching. The cleaning rod is full length. Included with this rifle is an original bayonet which fits and matches perfectly! This is easily the nicest 2nd Allin we've ever had! This 50-70 would be a great shooter or collector's piece.
