This First Model Springfield is all original and all complete and remains in good condition.

The stock is in good condition with no major cracks or chips. The lock panels are nicely defined with some edge smoothing indicating good honest wear.

The lock is in great shape with deep, legible markings and a 100% original and fully functional tape primer system. The action of the lock is very crisp with a reliable half and full cock.

The barrel is full length with light pitting are the breech. The bore is fair with strong rifling and some scattered rust and light pitting. Both front and rear sights are intact and unmodified.

The furniture is all original and matching. Both swivels are intact and move freely. The ramrod is a period replacement, but is full length.
