Here's a great choice for the reenactor or shooter. This French M1822 is in great condition and features and original matching bayonet!

The M1822 series of muskets were original built as flintlocks but were converted to percussion by the French in the late 1840s. A number of percussion-converted French M1822s were imported by both the North and South at the beginning of the war, and references to these weapons, as well as a host of other French guns can be found in countless ordnance records made during the war.

This musket is in great shape, and is all original with the exception of a replacement hammer screw.

The lock is in great shape with good markings and a solid half and full cock. The .69 caliber rifle barrel is full length and features a great bore with sharp rifling and only a few areas of light surface rust.

The furniture is all original and matching and an original bayonet is included which fits well and matches the musket in terms of condition.

This is a great price to own a rare original musket for a price that comparable to a defarbed Armi Sport 1842
