Description
Here's a great M1803 Harper's Ferry Rifle which was neatly converted back to flint.
Overall, this rifle is in great condition - far above average. The stock is very good - sound with nicely defined lock panels. There are no cracks, chips or rotten spots and the original inspector's cartouches are still visible.
The lock is good with a solid half and full cock and great Harper's Ferry markings. As previously mentioned, the cock, pan, frizzen and frizzen spring are nicely aged reproductions. The conversion work is very good with all reproduction parts matching the rife very well.
The barrel is full length and the rib is solidly attached with no evidence of having been re-soldered. The bore has been reamed smooth and now measures roughly .58. This rifle would be a great candidate for a reline!
The ram rod and furniture are all original and matching.
