It's always exciting to find a M1816 in such fine condition!

This all original Pomeroy Cone-In-Barrel Conversion musket has matching dates of 1835 on both the lockplate and barrel tang. The metal throughout this musket is smooth with no rust or pitting and nearly every component is marked with deep, legible assembler's stamps.

Perhaps the most fantastic feature of this musket is the bore. It is excellent - shiny with no rust and only very minor "frost pitting" near the muzzle. This musket would be a fantastic shooter! Deep proof marks are all present near the bolster.

The lock holds strong on both half and full cock.

Numerous cartouches are found on the lock panels and underside at the rear of the trigger guard. The stock has very few minor handling marks and wonderfully crisp edges; indicating this stock has never been refinished. The only flaw in the stock is small chip which was broken and subsequently re-glued in the bottom of the lock mortise (see pictures).

The furniture is all original and matching; including the ram rod which is full length.

Included with this musket is an original bayonet, which fits well and matches the musket in terms of condition.
