This original M1854 Lorenz is in excellent condition. It is all original with the exception of an American-made reproduction ramrod.

The lock has a nice even patina with some scattered pitting. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock.

The beech stock is in very good shape with a few minor "drying cracks" that are typically associated with Austrian rifles. However these cracks are all cosmetic in nature only and do not compromise the structural integrity of the stock.

The barrel is full length and features a block rear sight which is most often associated with Confederate-owned Lorenzes. The nipple is in good condition and can be easily removed with a properly sized nipple wrench.

The bore has been reamed smooth and no measures about .60 caliber. The bore itself features moderate rust throughout but no major pitting or damage.

The furniture is all original. This is a great original Lorenz for much less than the cost of an Italian reproduction.
