Description

This original Starr Double Action Army revolver is in good, shootable condition. More importantly, however, this is one of the few original Double Action Starrs that still works! That's right, this Starr functions perfectly with a nice tight lock up. Internally, the bore and chambers are in good condition with sharp rifling and some minor scattered pitting throughout both the bore and chambers. The "thumb screw" that keeps the barrel locked closed is original and the fit between the barrel and receiver is tight with only some discernable wobble.

Externally, this revolver displays a good honest patina with much of its original vibrant blued finish visible in the protected areas. Uncleaned and unmolested, all manufacturer's stamps on martial markings are crisp and legible. The grips are solid and in good shape and have the date "1861" light carved into the right grip. This pistol very likely saw service in the Civil War, and its serial number puts it within a block of Starr revolvers that was deliver to Company C of the 14th Pennsylvania Cavalry; making this fantastic revolver is a great collector's item.
