Description

This Rolling Block Carbine was made by Remington in the U.S. as part of a contract for the Argentinian military. These carbines were chambered in .43 Spanish; and they served as Argentina's standard relgamentary carbine from 1879 to 1891.

This particular carbine is in excellent condition. Like most Argentinian M1879's it was arsenal refinshed at some point and the bluing on the receiver and barrel are in excellent condition. Both front and rear sights are intact and in excellent condition. The bore is in great shape. The rifling is wonderfully crisp and shiny with only a few areas of light "frosting"

The Remington stamps on the tang are faint but legible. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock. The lock up of the receiver is wonderfully solid with no slop or play.

The stocks are both is great shape with a few minor handling marks and no cracks of chips. All the furniture is original and matching.
