Description

Here's a nice honest, all correct 45-70 trapdoor. This M1884 is in excellent condition. The lock, receiver, barrel, and furniture all retain much of their original arsenal bluing, which has largely turned "plum" colored with age.

The stock is in good condition and matches the condition of the metal components. The inspector's cartouches are legible and the stock has no major damage; only a few minor cosmetic dents and cracks from age.

The lock is in great condition with a reliable three-notch tumbler that holds solid on all positions. The barrel is in excellent condition with good stamps and a set of original front and rear sights. The bore is surprisingly good - mostly shiny with sharp rifling and no pitting to speak of. The breech block locks tightly to the receiver and the extractor is functional and in excellent condition.

The furniture is all original and matching. The cleaning rod is original and full length.

This rifle would make for a great display piece or shooter.
