Here's a beautiful C. Sharps Arms 1874 "Hartford Model" with loads of custom features. Starting from the top, this 1874 features features a 32" #1 weight Heavy Octagon tapered barrel with the classic "Harford Ring" breech - a characteristic feature found on the original 1874 sharps. It's chambered in .45-70 with a 1:18 twist, and finished in C. Sharps' "satin blue".
The receiver is finished in an attractive color case hardened finish which is in beautiful shape with no wear or scratching. A set of double-set triggers are neatly inletted into the butt stock. The stocks themselves are cut from C. Sharps' upgraded "Fancy" grade walnut featuring beautiful figured grain. The butt stock features a period-correct "shotgun-style" butt plate, as well as a cheek piece, a beautiful poured pewter "Hartford" nose cap adorns the forestock.
Installed on the tang is C. Sharps' "Deluxe Long Range Tang Sight w/ Windage, and to the front of the barrel is affixed C. Sharps' "Globe Sight W/ Interchangeable Apertures and Spirit Level". This sight combination is the most premium combination of sights that C. Sharps offers. This gun is all set up for long range sillouhette shooting and will be capable of 1000 yd shots.
This rifle was originally ordered in 2016. It's original owner was only able to test fire the gun before he unfortunately passed-away. As a result, this rifle is in new condition.
The stocks are in great condition with excellent finishes and no damage other than a few minor handling marks.
The lock and block are mechanically flawless; with tight lock ups and crisp springs. The block locks up tight with no gaps or wiggle.
The barrel is beautiful inside and out. The bluing is just very good and the bore is excellent - about mint with sharp rifling and no rust or pitting. Externally, all the steel hardware is in great shape with no damage.
