Description

This Remington Rolling Block Rifle was built under contract for the state of New York. The state ordered 15,000 of these rifles chambered in .50-70 in 1872.

This particular rifle is in great shape. The stocks are both very good with only a few minor handling marks and no major cracks or chips. All three original inspector's cartouches are still visible.

The action of the block functions as it should and the action is very crisp. The extractor is intact and in great shape.

The bore is very good with crisp rifling and only some shallow surface pits near the breech.

All the furniture is intact and matching.
