Here's an excellent Smith Carbine. This Smith was built by American Machine Works, making it among the rarer Smith contractors. This carbine is in excellent condition; retaining traces of its original color case hardening and the majority of its original blued finishes.

The receiver is in excellent condition with some color case still remaining in the protected areas. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock and the maker's stamps are crisp and legible. The saddle bar and ring are original and in good condition. The stocks are in great shape with no cracks or splits.

The barrel has great bluing which is beginning to turn "plum" in some areas. Both front and rear sights are original and in good condition. The top strap still retains most of its original fire-bluing. The bore is excellent; near mint with sharp rifling and no rust or pitting.

This is an excellent collector grade Smith that could certainly be taken to the range from time to time. Smiths in this condition are getting very difficult to find and finding one in this price range is nearly unheard-of. Don't let this one get away!
