Description
Here's an attractive Remington Model 95 "Double Derringer". Remington produced more than 150,000 Model 95s from 1866 through 1935. This particular example is a Type II (aka Model 3) variant produced between 1888 and 1911. The serial number of this Derringer places its year of manufacture around 1890.
This pistol is in good shape, however it has been re-nickeled. Despite this, all the markings are clear and legible. And the hard rubber grips are intact and free of cracks or chips. The frame and hinge are also free of cracks or other damage; which is an issued common to these guns.
The guns functions well with no mechanical issues. The hammer holds solid on full and half cock, and the camming action of the firing pin works as it should. The extractors also work and are not rusted in place like many other Model 95s of this vintage.
The bores are both dark with faint rifling.
