Description

This beautiful Snider Conversion Musket is all original from top to bottom. With a little work this British breech loader would be a great choice for any shooter or collector.

The stock is good with nice cartouches. The buttstock proudly bears a Royal Manufactory Enfield Roundel with a First Class mark; meaning that this was a top quality rifle when it was built some 150 years ago. The stock is sound save for a crack that runs from the right side of the trigger guard and into the lock mortise. Luckily this crack does not go all the way through the stock and some minor repair work should make this stock a suitable shooter.

The hardware is in good condition with no major pitting or other damage.

The bore is very good with sharp rifling. The toggle action of the breech block is smooth and the lock up is nice and solid.

The furniture is all original and all matching. This wonderful Snider is great example of early breechloading technology.
