This Model 1855 Springfield is all original with the exception of a reproduction door and rear sight.

The stock is good condition and shows considerable wear from handling, however there are no cracks, major chips or rotten spots, and the stock is very structurally sound.

The lock is in great shape with legible markings and a 100% original and fully functional tape primer system. The action of the lock is very crisp with a reliable half and full cock.

The barrel is full length and a dark mottled patina. The bore was reamed smooth after military service and there is no visible rifling present.

The furniture is all original and matching. The ramrod is full length.

This iconic musket is budget-priced and would be a perfect addition to any collection.
