Description

Here's a nice M1870 trapdoor. This 50-70 is all original with the exception of the cleaning rod; which is a correct, American-made reproduction.

The stock is in great shape with crisp edges and nice, legible cartouches. There are no cracks or chips anywhere. The name of a former owner, "Chas. C. Nolting Lou. KY" can also be stamped in the left counterpane.

The lock has a smooth and solid half and full cock

The barrel is in nice shape with great markings. The trapdoor action is nice and smooth with a tight lock up and the extractor is functional. The bore is excellent with a shiny bore with sharp rifling and no rust or pitting. This gun would be a real tack driver should its new owner decide to take it to the range!

The furniture is in nice shape and both front and rear sights are intact and unmodified. The cleaning rod is full length.
