Description

Here's a nice M1870 trapdoor. This 50-70 is all original including the cleaning rod.

The stock is in great shape with crisp edges and nice, legible cartouches. There are some deep dents on the left side of the wrist, but they are cosmetic only and there are no cracks or any structural damage anywhere.

The lock has a smooth and solid half and full cock. The markings on the lock plate are crisp and legible and traces of color case hardening can be seen on the lock plate and hammer.

The barrel is in nice shape with great markings. The trapdoor action is nice and smooth with a tight lock up and the extractor is functional. The bore is excellent with beautifully crisp rifling and no rust or pitting - this rifle would make an excellent shooter!

The furniture is in nice shape and both front and rear sights are intact and unmodified. The cleaning rod is full length.
