Description
Original U.S. M1882 3rd pattern Headless Shell Extractor. This tool was to be kept in the butt trap of the .45/70 carbine or M1888 Rod Bayonet Trapdoor. It worked not only as a shell extractor but also as a fouling scraper. The outside of the extractor has grooves cut into it which fit into the rifling of the trapdoor's barrel. When pushed down the muzzle of the barrel, it can remove your stuck cartridge as well as clean any fouling present in the grooves of the rifling.
