This beautiful pepper box pistol, and its accessories was made by Edward London in the 1850's. The pistol is in excellent condition and includes a host of original accessories and is fitted in a beautiful oak case.
The pistol itself is beautiful with original color case hardening present on both the frame and barrels. The grips feature sharps hand cut checkering and the double action mechanism is crisp and reliable. There is no rust or pitting anywhere; including the .44 caliber bores which are very nice. All six nipples are intact and in good condition.
Included with this pistol is an original oak case which was fitted specifically for this pistol by Edward London. This is not a reproduction box or a generic gun box that was retrofitted for this pistol - this is the original case that was made for this gun and it accessories as indicated by the desirable maker's label affixed to the inside lid.
In the case are a host of accessories; all of them original to the set. The accessories include a powder flask with extra compartments for both spare balls and caps, an original cap tin, a bullet mold, a nipple wrench, a loading rod, and a turned bone oil bottle. Each of these accessories fit neatly into its own compartment and there are no pieces missing from the set.
The case itself is in excellent condition with no cracks and a functional lock (although the key was lost long ago).
This is the finest pepperbox we've ever had the pleasure of offering; and this is the finest and most complete set we've ever seen. Purchase this set and set it in a place of honor in your gun room!
