This original Martially-marked M1860 Colt Army Revolver is in great shape and includes an original letter from the Colt factory which traces its original purchase to Lt. Col. G.D. Ramsey of the United States Armory in 1862; making this gun an authentic piece of Civil War issued-kit. Lettered percussion Colts are rare; and M1860's with factory letters are even less frequently encountered as many of Colt's records from the Civil War were burned.

This pistol is in great shape. The action is smooth and reliable; and the timing is excellent. The bore and chambers are all good with strong rifling and minimal pitting.

The grips are original and in good shape. The outline of two original inspector's cartouches can be found on each grip panel.

The pistol has a great smooth brown patina with good legible markings; indicating that the gun was never refinished.

All serial numbers match; including the cylinder.
