Description
This 5th Model Burnside is in good shape. The lock holds well on both full and half cock and the lock plate has good legible stamps and a nice patina. The breech block and the receiver are matching; a rare feature on a lot of war used Burnsides. The receiver lock up is nice and solid.
The barrel is in good condition with both front and rear sights intact and in good condition. The bore is about mint with excellent rifling and no rust or pitting.
The stocks are sound with some handling marks and no major chips or dents and great inspector's cartouches.
The hardware is all original and complete, including the saddle bar and ring.
This carbine would make for a great collectors piece, and with it's excellent bore, could even be used as a shooter.
