Description

Here's a fantastic Type 2 Hewes and Phillips conversion of the M1816 Springfield. This musket is in excellent condition; making it an ideal choice for any collector or reenactor. Additionally, this particular musket is one of the original "sighted smoothbore" guns - not a bored out rifled conversion; making it legal for N-SSA competition!

The lock is in great shape with excellent markings and no rust or pitting. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock.

The stock is very nice with wonderfully crisp edges and no cracks or splits other than a small superficial crack on the left lock panel (see pictures).

The barrel is full length with great stamps at the breech The bore is fair with some scattered rust and minor pitting.

The furniture is all original including the ramrod and nipple.

Included with this musket is a correct original bayonet which fits well and matches in terms of condition.
