Description

This musket would be ideal for a skirmisher or reenactor, as its relined barrel is ready for some hard use! This original M1841 is in great shape. It features a bone-charcoal color case hardened Rich Cross lock plate with an original hammer and original internals. The action of the lock is wonderfully solid with a great full and half cock.

The barrel is an original Colt-altered M1841 with a reproduction Rich Cross rear sight and "tall shooter" front sight with a removable sight protector. The barrel is in excellent condition externally with no pitting. The bore was relined by Bob Hoyt and is in like new condition with wonderfully sharp rifling and no rust or pitting.

The stock is is in good condition with some minor dings and dents, and a small crack behind the tang. This is a cosmetic crack, however and shouldn't impede the gun's function. The remnant of an "OHIO" marking can be seen on the left side lock panel, indicating that this was one of the rifle owned by Ohio state troops.

The furniture is all original and in great shape. The ramrod is a reproduction
