Description

Here's an excellent collector-grade Enfield that's fit for some serious shooting or reenacting. This original Enfield was originally built by Birmingham Small Arms Trade guild member Isaac Hollis for export to America during the Civil War. It has survived the was in excellent condition and is all original. The stock is in beautiful shape with nice crisp edges and a whole host of inspector's stamps and contractor cartouches appropriate for a Civil War Enfield. The stock has no cracks, splits, or rotten spots and retains most of its original finish.

The lock is in great shape with a nice smooth, even patina and crisp markings. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock. The barrel is full length and in excellent condition; retaining a majority of its original blued finish which is beginning to turn plumb. Appropriate Birmingham proofmarks are present and crisp on the breech. Both front and rear sights are intact and in great condition. The bore is mint as it was recently relined by Bob Hoyt. This reline give the barrel the strength and accuracy of a brand new barrel; making this musket in obvious choice for a shooter or reenactor.

The furniture is all original and in great condition. The ramrod is full length.
