Description

This original Enfield is all original and in good condition.

The lock features an 1862 TOWER stamp with no "VR" cypher under the crown; indicating that this piece was made for export to North America during the American Civil War. The hammer holds solid on both full and half cock. The action of the lock is crisp and very smooth.

The stock is very crisp indicating that it was never refinished or sanded. There are no major cracks or chips anywhere and there is no burn-out behind the hammer.

The barrel is full length and features a pair of original sights in good condition. Some minor salt and pepper pits are scattered along the outside of the barrel but the stamps at the breech are crisp and legible. The bore is good with sharp rifling and only one or two areas of minor surface rust with no major pitting.

The furniture is all original including the ramrod.

Included with this musket is an a reproduction tompion and Confederate-style sling.
