Description
Here's a great choice for the reenactor or shooter. This Austrian 1842 Engineer's Rifle is in great condition and features a glass bedded breech and a good bore.
The M1842 Engineer's rifle was imported by both the North and South at the beginning of the war in limited quantities; as both sides of the conflict looked to Europe to make for arms shortages.
This stock is in great shape, with no cracks or splits. All the original inspectors's stamps are legible and the "holy water plug" is intact.
The lock is in great shape with good markings and a solid half and full cock. The barrel is full length and features and features a glass bedded breech and a good bore with sharp rifling and only a few areas of light surface pitting.
The furniture is all original and matching.
